MEET THE TEACHER BEHIND GROWING GREATNESS

Hi, I'm Angela.

I didn't start Growing Greatness because I wanted to homeschool differently. I started it because I wanted to be intentional about what my daughter was learning and how she was learning it.

As a former teacher, I knew strong readers and writers are built through rich books, meaningful conversations, real life experiences, and intentional teaching. So I began building our lessons around my daughter's interests, while making sure she was growing the reading, writing, vocabulary, and thinking skills she needs for life.

Today, I help homeschool families do the same. I show parents how to confidently teach comprehension, vocabulary, and writing to kids ages 8 to 14, whether you use a curriculum or not.

I'm not just teaching skills. I'm sharing how those skills help a child become a stronger reader and writer, and showing you exactly how we do it at home.

What I believe

The ideas behind every guide, workshop, and Friday planning session.

Real books build real readers

Read alouds and rich stories give children the language and thinking skills to truly understand what they read.

Words grow from everyday life

Vocabulary sticks when new words are woven into the conversations and experiences you already share.

Writing starts with experience

Children write their best about what they've lived, like a movie, a book, a game, or an outing.

What families are saying

★★★★★

So organized and full of resources for any homeschool parent looking for a non-traditional way of teaching reading, writing, and vocabulary. It's exactly what I needed going into year 5. The handholding is unmatched.

My son used to shut down the second we opened a reading lesson. Six weeks in, he’s the one asking to do the next passage, and his writing has gone from one sentence to a full paragraph he actually wants to read back to me. The shift in confidence is the thing I didn’t expect.

I almost didn’t go. I figured it’d be another hour of theory. Instead I left with a simple weekly plan and two activities I tried that afternoon. It made the whole thing feel doable instead of overwhelming.
